Nvidia GTC'21: Top AI Use Cases Implemented by the Most Innovative Retailers

In this panel discussion at Nvidia's global conference, I was invited alongside other leading figures within AI from the retail industry to discuss how retailers are leveraging AI to address shifting consumer behaviours, optimising supply chain operations, and improving omnichannel management and the AI use cases that are delivering the greatest business value.

Said Business School MBA Programme: Data Science at Tesco

In this talk I was invited to present with MBA students at Said Business School at The University of Oxford about how we prioritise, build and measure the value of AI developments in a complex global retail business.

In this talk, I was joined by several of my colleagues to talk to PhD candidates at the University of Oxford Mathematical Institute and foster research opportunities focused on the interesting technical challenge of predicting a customers next shopping basket.

Data Science Tech Institute: What makes a good Data Scientist

For this talk I was privileged to be invited to Paris to talk at the current cohort of students attending the Data Science Tech Institute. I focused on how Data Science is used to provide real world impact within organisations and the evolving skills required to be a successful Data Scientist.

London School of Economics (LSE): Data Driven Decision Making at Tesco

In this talk at LSE's Annual Summit, I discussed how Data Science can mean many different things to different people and organisations and what it specifically means at Tesco and how it is being applied to support and automate decision making in one of the worlds largest retail organisations.

Newton Gateway to Mathematics (University of Cambridge): Using Data to Improve Decision Making in a Complex World

For this talk I was invited to the University of Cambridge to give a talk on leveraging data and analytics to improve decision making within organisations. The talk touched on examples from across the analytics spectrum including Diagnostic and Descriptive analytics through to Predictive and Prescriptive analytics.

Teens in AI: My Journey in Data Science

During the early stages of the covid lock downs in the UK, I was given the opportunity to share my Journey in Data Science with a passionate group of teens taking part in an AI hackathon. I talked about what Data Science means to me, the skills we look for in a Data Scientist and the impact their work has on a business.

The Operational Research Society President Medal

Our Tesco Data Science team won the prestigious OR Society President Medal for their Clear Price Optimisation AI application

I'm very proud of the external recognition that the team received for their fantastic work on developing a Pricing Optimisation solution which is working at scale to optimise all markdown and reductions events across General Merchandise, Clothing and Fresh Produce.
